Books
This section gives a number of rules and examples that you will encounter when referencing books in your assessment tasks, theses and articles for publication. Please note: “In Chinese usage, the family name precedes the given name. This practice should be followed except for people whose names are known to follow Western order in English contexts.” (CMOS 8.16) If you are unsure which is the family name and which is the given name of the author, where possible, look to see how the author presents their name in both a note and a bibliography entry and follow their examples.
